This Privacy Policy explains how Passion Connection LTD, doing business as Lucid Samples ("we", "us", "our"), handles data in LucidSocial - our internal application used to schedule and publish our own marketing content (short videos and posts) to our own social-media channels, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, Pinterest and TikTok. LucidSocial is a private business tool operated for Lucid Samples; it is not a public consumer service and does not create accounts for the general public.

YouTube API Services

LucidSocial uses YouTube API Services to upload videos to our own YouTube channel and to read and reply to comments on those videos for moderation and engagement. By using the YouTube-related features of LucidSocial you are agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

Google's handling of any data it receives is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

You can revoke LucidSocial's access to your Google/YouTube data at any time via the Google security settings page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.

What YouTube data we access and why

When an authorised Lucid Samples operator connects our YouTube channel, LucidSocial requests OAuth 2.0 authorisation with the scopes youtube.upload and youtube.force-ssl. With this authorisation LucidSocial:

  • uploads videos to our own channel (YouTube Data API videos.insert), always as private uploads that a human then reviews and publishes;
  • reads comments on our own videos (commentThreads.list) and may post replies (comments.insert) as part of moderation and customer engagement;
  • reads basic channel identity to label the connected account.

We only access data relating to our own channel and the public comments left on it. We do not access private data of YouTube viewers beyond the public comment content and public author name that YouTube returns.

How we store and protect it

OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored on our own server, encrypted with AES-256-GCM, and are used solely to act on our own channel on our behalf. Tokens are never displayed in the interface, never sent to any third party, and never used for any purpose other than operating our own channel. Access to the LucidSocial application itself is restricted to authenticated Lucid Samples staff.

Automated comment classification

To help moderate and prioritise responses, the public text of comments on our own videos may be processed by an automated language-classification service (an AI provider such as DeepSeek or Anthropic) to determine sentiment and intent. Only the public comment text is processed, it is processed transiently for that single classification, it is not used by us or the provider to train models, and it is not shared for any other purpose. No private user data is sent.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share YouTube API data with third parties, advertisers, or data brokers, except the transient AI classification described above and except where required by law. YouTube API data is used only to operate our own channel.

Data retention and deletion

We retain OAuth tokens only for as long as the channel remains connected. When the channel is disconnected, when access is revoked in Google security settings, or on request, the corresponding tokens and cached YouTube data are deleted from our systems. In line with the YouTube API Services Terms, we refresh or delete stored authorised data within 30 days, and we do not retain YouTube API data longer than necessary.
